Using This Manual

Using the FretPet Manual should be familiar to anyone used to browsing the World Wide Web. Hyperlinks appear as underlined text and they take you to new locations in the document. Some links will take you to definitions in the Glossary. In these cases they will appear in Boldface.

Read the Tutorial first. This section provides guided tour in which you will build a simple progression, learn about the interface, and get some immediately pleasing results. Once you've got the hang of things you can return to the manual and read over the rest at your leisure.

Menu Commands

Green Highlighted Text indicates a menu command. For example, File → New means the New command in the File menu. FretPet → Preferences represents the Preferences command in the menu labeled FretPet.

Notes

Yellow Note boxes provide additional tips or warnings about the current topic.

Special Symbols

Special symbols are used as a shorthand to represent modifiers and other special keys throughout the manual. These symbols should be somewhat familiar if you've ever use a Macintosh computer. Use the key in the left-margin if you forget what a symbol means.

FretPet X $30.00 US

The FretPet demo allows you to use FretPet for as long as you wish. However all Save functionality is disabled during the evaluation period. You can purchase a serial number using the Help → Register FretPet command from within the program, or you can visit the Kagi Store by clicking the button above. After purchase you will receive a serial number by email to unlock the demo.

Once you receive your serial number use the Help → Enter Serial Number command to unlock the program.
